My terminal studio project was a design for high density housing in Portland. My design was an apartment building on in Old-Town next to Waterfront Park. This was my final presentation.

This studio began with a series of short projects focused on neighborhood design. The final project was a design for a neighborhood block, including street and sidewalk layout, lot designs, prototype houses. This was a collaboration with Patrick Loftus.

This studio explored a redesign of the Walnut Station Node of Eugene. Working in groups of 8 students, we worked with the City of Eugene planning staff to develop options for a redesign of Franklin Boulevard and form-based code to guide future development.

The area we explored spanned from 15th Ave. to the Millrace. I drew this section based on our group's design. This does not represent specific building designs, but rather it is one possibility for how the area could develop based on the code we proposed.

This was my first studio project. It was a design for a weekend retreat house and a single-room writing studio on a hillside site. The project focused on the concepts of refuge (the feeling safety and shelter) and prospect (the feeling of opportunity and openness).

This is a model of the writing studio. It was designed to be a secluded, private space where the writer could be connected with nature. The studio is constructed from concrete block and embedded in the hillside, giving a solid anchored feel. This is contrasted by the light timber trellis, drawing the eye outward to the view of the valley.
